In conjunction with the Royal Hotel in Llangollen, Knights have raised almost £2,000 for Nightingale House Hospice through the holding of a public jumble sale at the beginning of March.
Ahead of a full building renovation of the hotel, a two-day public sale was held at the historic venue with all furniture items throughout being made available for locals to buy. All proceeds raised were donated to Nightingale House Hospice.
The sale proved very popular over the two days and items sold included beds, wardrobes, chairs, sofas, bar stools, crockery, kitchen equipment and outdoor furniture amongst others with the hotel now closed for a full building renovation.
Knights’ Construction Manager, Gwyn Davies presented the cheque to Laura Parry of Nightingale House Hospice and said he was delighted at the response to the sale.
“We’ve of course been planning ahead for the renovation of the Royal Hotel, and there was that much furniture and equipment left in the building that we thought it would be worth putting it all to good use. So, we talked about it and decided that Nightingale House, a great local hospice in Wrexham would be a very worthy cause to raise funds for. On behalf of Knights and the Royal Hotel, we’re delighted that we could help in some small way”, said Gwyn.
Nightingale House Hospice provides specialist palliative care services, completely free-of-charge, to patients and their families across a wide area stretching from Wrexham, Flintshire and East Denbighshire to Barmouth and the border towns including Oswestry and Whitchurch.
